For most of us, scales did not inspire us to play. Songs did. So we find a song you love that uses two or three chords, learn it, then build from there. Read the philosophy.

About your teacher
I grew up in Burien, Washington, and have called just about every neighborhood in Seattle home at one time or another. I fell in love with rock and roll and the Seattle grunge scene in middle school, picked up a guitar, and never really put it down. These days, I live in West Seattle with my wife and two kids, still playing, discovering new music, and sharing my love of guitar with others.
